Limited Edition Autumn Goshuin at Ninna-ji Temple in Kyoto Launching This Fall

Autumn Limited Edition Goshuin 'Jyuugoya - Autumn Ninna-ji'

Starting from October 1, 2025, Ninna-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyoto, will begin offering a limited edition autumn goshuin titled 'Jyuugoya - Autumn Ninna-ji'. This initiative, produced by ELternal, a consulting venture from Waseda University, aims to enhance fandom for temples and shrines through carefully crafted goshuin while showcasing the allure of traditional Japanese culture.

The design of the autumn goshuin exquisitely captures the enchanting scene of the traditional 'Jyuugoya' festival, featuring the five-story pagoda that has stood the test of time. Surrounded by the blooms of autumn flowers such as bellflowers, chrysanthemums, and vibrant maple leaves, the atmosphere is enriched by the golden glow of the full moon. The artistic portrayal is further brought to life by the adorable rabbits that embellish the moon, inviting us into age-old tales told under the night sky.

Goshuin design

This exquisite piece serves as a visual representation not just of nature’s beauty, but of Ninna-ji’s historical significance, with the pagoda standing majestically against the backdrop of the moonlit sky. As a symbol of autumn, the colorful flowers at the foreground blossom brilliantly, embodying the freshness of the seasonal breeze present within the temple grounds.
