Exciting Expansion and Renovation Plans Unveiled for Plateau Travel Plaza

Plateau Travel Plaza's Major Expansion and Renovation

Plateau Travel Plaza, managed by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Warm Springs Casino Enterprises (WSCE), is gearing up for an exciting transformation. This ambitious expansion project aims to provide guests with enhancements they have long desired, fundamentally altering the travel plaza experience.

Gaming Room Expansion

One of the most significant upgrades involves the gaming room, which will SEE a substantial expansion. The area dedicated to slot machines will effectively double in size, featuring cutting-edge machines that promise to provide an exhilarating gaming experience. Notably, all slot operations at Plateau Travel Plaza will continue to be integrated with Indian Head Casino's player rewards program. This means guests can easily earn and redeem rewards at both venues, enriching their overall experience.

Dining Improvements

In addition to the gaming enhancements, guests can anticipate a variety of new food offerings. This includes both grab-and-go options and seated dining experiences, allowing patrons to enjoy more diverse culinary choices. The plaza's store will also see significant upgrades, introducing a new coffee station, a selection of ice creams, and an expanded range of beverages, effectively doubling the current beverage offerings. These adjustments respond to guest feedback, ensuring visitors can enjoy refreshing drinks and tasty snacks.

General Manager Shawn McDaniel expressed, "Our guests have been telling us what they want, and we've been listening. This expansion is about delivering on those requests — more gaming, more dining, and more convenience — all in a space that reflects the pride and hospitality of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. We are excited to bring these upgrades to life while still providing the same great service our customers count on every day."

Construction and Community Impact

Construction is expected to kick off on August 25, 2025, right after the annual air show. Throughout the renovation period, Plateau Travel Plaza commits to keeping fuel lanes operational and will maintain all essential trucker amenities, including showers, laundry services, and fuel discounts—all crucial for the convenience and satisfaction of travel plaza patrons.

This expansion represents a significant investment in the surrounding community, promising to create hundreds of construction jobs and adding 20 permanent positions once the project is completed. Led by Kirby construction company along with KMB architects, this development is poised to strengthen the local economy and enhance the service levels at Plateau Travel Plaza.

The facility, which opened in 2018, has become an essential economic engine for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. This latest investment underscores WSCE's ongoing promise to deliver exceptional services and amenities for travelers, truckers, and the local community. As they prepare for this new chapter, both the tribes and the community can anticipate a boost in visitor engagement and an overall enhanced experience at Plateau Travel Plaza.
