Hitachi Scroll Compressor Makes Independent Debut at Chillventa 2026, Enhancing European Presence

Hitachi Scroll Compressor's Independent Launch at Chillventa 2026

The Chillventa 2026 exhibition, taking place from October 13 to 15 at the Nuremberg Messe in Germany, marks the first time that Hitachi's scroll compressor is showcased as an independent exhibitor. This strategic move highlights Hitachi's commitment to enhancing its presence in the European market, particularly in the realm of energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology.

At booth 1-637, Hitachi is unveiling its latest compressor solutions that are designed to work with eco-friendly refrigerants such as R-290 and R-454C. These innovations represent a critical step for manufacturers as Europe transitions toward more sustainable energy solutions. As the industry adapts to new regulations and an increased demand for low global warming potential (GWP) solutions, Hitachi's products are positioned to meet these evolving requirements.

Addressing the Shifts in HVAC Technology

As Europe moves forward with its energy transition, the growing adoption of heat pumps and changes in refrigerant regulations are transforming the HVAC landscape. Manufacturers are now seeking compressor technologies that can adapt to the dynamic landscape while maintaining performance, reliability, and safety. Hitachi's scroll compressor is at the forefront of this evolution, continuing to develop technologies that support various refrigerant types and system designs, thereby offering more options to customers looking to modernize their product offerings in line with market trends and new regulations.

One of the standout products featured at Chillventa 2026 is Hitachi's DC inverter compressor, specifically designed for low ambient temperature heat pump applications using the natural refrigerant R-290. With a GWP100 of just 0.02, R-290 presents a significantly lower environmental impact compared to many conventional refrigerants, making this solution particularly suitable for residential and commercial heat pump applications. Additionally, Hitachi is introducing an inverter compressor compatible with R-454C, which, with a GWP100 of 146, provides an alternative for manufacturers transitioning to new refrigerants that maintain energy efficiency without sacrificing system performance or safety. This offering allows greater flexibility in developing heat pump and HVAC systems that align with the evolving demands of the industry.

Expanding Compression Technologies

Beyond the realm of heat pumps, Hitachi is broadening the applications of its scroll compressor technologies. The showcased range includes fixed-speed compressors designed for refrigeration applications, horizontal scroll compressors for thermal management in transportation, and DC inverter compressors utilized in energy storage temperature control systems. Moreover, Hitachi is exploring new opportunities in emerging applications, such as thermal management for data centers—demonstrating the increasing significance of its compression technologies across various sectors.

Wisdom Hao, General Manager of Guangzhou Bosch Home Comfort Compressor Technology Co. Ltd, emphasized the importance of adapting to new energy and thermal management requirements: "The energy transition in Europe brings forth new demands in heating, cooling, and thermal control. We aim to support our customers by providing efficient and reliable compressor technologies that meet the constantly evolving requirements of systems and refrigerants. Chillventa allows us to engage directly with our partners across Europe, better understanding their needs and exploring how we can collaborate to develop solutions for the next generation of products."

With decades of experience in compressor development, a robust product portfolio, and a global service network supported by ongoing R&D investments, Hitachi's scroll compressor is set to advance its technologies in line with customer needs and market changes.

Visitors to Chillventa 2026 are encouraged to connect with Hitachi's scroll compressor team at booth 1-637 to discover the latest in compressor technology and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
