California Credit Union Launches School Supply Drive
GLENDALE, California – On July 1, 2025, California Credit Union kicked off a school supply drive aimed at equipping local students for a successful start to the upcoming academic year. This initiative, in collaboration with NBC4 and Telemundo 52's 'Supporting Our Schools' campaign, marks the third year of partnership focused on ensuring that students have access to essential supplies.
From now until July 26, community members are encouraged to make a positive impact by donating new school supplies at any of the participating California Credit Union branches located in Los Angeles and Orange counties. All collected supplies will be distributed during a special community event being held at the Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA on August 1.
California Credit Union President and CEO, Steve O'Connell, expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting the youth in their community. "We believe in investing in the future of our local youth, and that journey begins with education. This backpack drive is just one small effort we can make to help every child feel prepared and confident at the start of the school year," he stated. He further emphasized the importance of community involvement, encouraging everyone to contribute, as every backpack donated is a step towards enhancing a child's likelihood of success.
The school supplies requested for donation include:

- - Writing utensils such as pens, pencils, markers, and crayons
- - Binders and folders
- - Paper and graph paper
- - Rulers, erasers, glue sticks, and more.

NBC4 and Telemundo 52's 'Supporting Our Schools' program aims to secure necessary supplies for students to thrive academically in the new school year.
