New Employees at LAVA Experience Yoga to Synchronize Mind and Body During Orientation Ceremony

LAVA’s Unique Approach to Orientation: A Yoga Experience

In a refreshing twist to the traditional employee onboarding process, LAVA International, a pioneer in hot yoga with over 700 studios across Japan, organized a mass yoga event for 437 new employees during their 2026 orientation ceremony. This innovative program took place over two days at venues in Tokyo and Osaka, creating an immersive experience that allowed the newcomers to develop a sense of unity while also harmonizing their mind and body.

A Moment of Shared Breath

The event began with a welcome speech from LAVA’s executives, where they outlined the company's vision and discussed key values that the new employees should uphold as they embark on their professional journeys. This segment served as a launchpad for the newcomers’ commitment to their role within the company, fostering deeper connections among peers.

On the second day, the orientation featured a signature program, where all 437 participants from LAVA and its Pilates brand, Rintosull, engaged in a synchronized yoga session. As they struck their poses collectively, a palpable sense of togetherness filled the room, illustrating the power of shared experiences in building team spirit.

Voices of New Employees

The new recruits expressed their feelings post-yoga, highlighting the transformative impact of the experience. One female employee from Tokyo shared, “Initially, I felt nervous, but as we moved together, my tension eased, and I felt a closer bond with my colleagues.” Another participant from Osaka reflected on the introspective nature of the session, stating, “Focusing on my breath allowed me to confront my own state, paving the way for a positive mindset as I start my career.”

The Reason Behind Prioritizing Mindfulness

Recognizing the rising importance of self-management in today’s fast-paced world, LAVA’s initiative is designed to cultivate the ability to regulate one's self-starting from early on in an employee's career. In today's rapidly changing environment, maintaining mental and physical stability lays the groundwork for consistent performance. The yoga sessions were intentionally included to help alleviate the initial anxieties faced by new employees and to encourage a positive outlook as they start their careers.

A Commitment to Wellness and Growth

LAVA believes that the well-being of its instructors directly translates into the quality of service provided to clients. By encouraging employees to engage with yoga and Pilates, the company nurtures their passion and promotes professional growth. This alignment with the motto of transforming “passions into careers” embodies LAVA’s hiring and training philosophy.
