Nao Matsushita Lights Up Ginza for GILC NIGHT 2025

The enchanting winter streets of Ginza are set to sparkle once again as the eagerly awaited illumination event, GINZA GILC NIGHT 2025, kicks off from November 15 to December 25. Hosted collaboratively by the Ginza District Association and the Ginza International Luxury Committee (GILC), this year’s event is poised to be a grand visual feast with approximately 100 illuminations lighting up the famous district.

To commemorate its opening on November 15, popular actor Nao Matsushita was invited to attend the lighting ceremony, marking the event's return after a three-year hiatus. Last year, although the GINZA ART WALK and other illumination events took place, 2025 signals a significant expansion in scale and splendor.

The chairman of the Ginza District Association, Mikio Tojo, expressed hopes that visitors would revel in the festive atmosphere unique to Ginza during the Christmas season. Tokyo's Chuo Ward Mayor, Yasuto Yamamoto, echoed this sentiment, wishing everyone an enjoyable experience amidst the beautifully illuminated scenery.

On the day of the event, Matsushita captivated attendees by donning an exquisite black dress by Giorgio Armani, complemented by luxurious high jewelry estimated at 350 million yen from Cartier. As she graced the stage, onlookers gasped at her breathtaking beauty, showcasing the allure of both the venue and her elegant ensemble.

In an interview, Matsushita shared her thoughts about the jewelry, noting its design evoking a sense of nature and water’s surface—something she found mesmerizing.
