GLN Launches Nationwide QR Payment Service in Vietnam, Simplifying Transactions
GLN Connects with Vietnam’s National QR Network
GLN International, in collaboration with NAPAS, has unveiled a game-changing QR payment service across Vietnam. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the country's financial infrastructure, allowing for seamless transactions directly integrated into the national QR payment network. The official launch took place on April 23, 2026, with key attendance from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), NAPAS, BIDV, and Hana Bank.
Recent trends in digital payments have shown that QR-based systems are proliferating throughout Southeast Asia, making transactions faster and more efficient, especially for tourists. GLN's payment service now enables its users to conveniently access Vietnam's financial ecosystem through their own banking or fintech applications, eliminating the need for complicated currency exchange processes.
Enhancing Payment Accessibility
The integration taps into Vietnam's existing payment framework, leveraging the VietQR Global system run by NAPAS, which interconnects various banks and merchants nationwide. This collaboration ensures that customers using partner applications can engage in payment transactions effortlessly and widely. Notably, the service broadens its reach by supporting inbound use cases, which means that Vietnamese travelers can now use QR payments while visiting Korea through their local apps.
Tourist hotspots like Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City will benefit significantly as the service caters to everyday merchants in these areas. Travelers can now use GLN-connected applications, including prominent Korean fintech platforms such as Toss, PurpleGLN, Hana OneQ, Hana Money, and Hana Card, to complete transactions without facing the hassle of currency conversion.
A Step towards Financial Integration
Seok Lee, CEO of GLN, stated that this launch represents a pivotal moment in connecting Korea and Vietnam by establishing a cohesive QR payment infrastructure. By merging with Vietnam's national QR network, GLN aims to create a user-friendly payment experience for travelers, utilizing the apps they are already familiar with in their home markets.
GLN’s effort to expand its services also promises future integration with other major platforms like Naver Pay and the KB Banking App, further improving the user experience.
GLN's Global Payment Solutions
As a subsidiary of Hana Bank under Hana Financial Group, GLN specializes in QR payment and withdrawal services across 14 Asian nations, including China, Thailand, and the Philippines, providing access to over 200 million QR-enabled merchants globally. This extensive network positions GLN as a leading facilitator in cross-border payments across Asia.
The company’s ambitious plans do not stop at Vietnam, as it continues to forge partnerships with global financial platforms like Moreta Pay in North America, DeCard App in Singapore, and Taishin Bank in Taiwan. The overarching goal is to create an efficient, cashless, and cardless payment ecosystem that fosters smooth transactions both domestically and internationally.
In conclusion, GLN International's new QR payment service is set to transform the financial landscape of Vietnam while enhancing the overall travel experience for global explorers. As technology continues to evolve, initiatives like these promise to make financial transactions more accessible, efficient, and user-centered, paving the way for a cashless future.
