F-Pico and Nishizawa Join Forces for Horizontal Recycling
In a bid to foster a sustainable circular economy, F-Pico, under the leadership of Chairman Morimasa Sato, and Nishizawa, headed by President Yasuhiro Araki, have announced the "Eco Store Collaboration Declaration." This initiative targets all 11 locations of Nishizawa and aims to reincarnate used food trays and PET bottles into new containers, enhancing the "Store to Store" horizontal recycling approach.
Both companies strive to position their stores as eco-leaders in their communities, actively working to reduce environmental impact and optimize the utilization of recyclable resources.
Key Highlights of the Initiative
1. Promotion of "Store to Store" Horizontal Recycling
Nishizawa is proactively collecting used food trays, transparent containers, and PET bottles across all its locations. With the support of local communities, these valuable materials are gathered in designated collection boxes. Subsequently, F-Pico employs its recycling methods, transforming these collected resources into new food trays and transparent containers through processes such as "Tray to Tray" and "Bottle to Transparent Container." Nishizawa plans to further promote this horizontal recycling initiative by actively using the recycled eco-products like "Eco Trays" in their stores.
2. Expansion of Eco-Product Usage and CO2 Reduction Goals
In its efforts to further sustainability, Nishizawa has reported a reduction of 70 tons in CO2 emissions through the use of eco-products by February 2025. With the recent strengthened collaboration, the company aims to increase the use of such products, targeting a CO2 reduction of 100 tons by February 2028.
Through the "Eco Store Collaboration Declaration," F-Pico and Nishizawa are reinforcing their partnership to achieve these ambitious goals, working hand-in-hand with local communities to contribute towards a sustainable circular society.
