Ascentiz Unveils Its Revolutionary Modular Exoskeleton Platform at IFA 2026
At the IFA 2026, held in Berlin, Ascentiz showcased its groundbreaking H and K modules, marking the introduction of the world's first modular exoskeleton platform. This innovative system, known as the Exo-Belt, incorporates interchangeable articulated modules and a flexible software platform designed to evolve over time.
The Ascentiz-H model focuses on enhancing hip propulsion for activities like walking, climbing, running, and fast-paced movements. In contrast, the Ascentiz-K model offers an adaptive knee augmentation system, blending dynamic knee assistance with continuous active support and load management on flat surfaces, stairs, inclines, and declines. Leveraging Adaptive Motion Intelligence technology, both models can detect movement condition variations and adjust assistance in real-time based on the user’s selected mode.
Why Modular?
As the market for consumer exoskeletons evolves towards multi-joint assistance, developers face critical architectural decisions: integrate all functionalities into a single fixed device covering the entire leg, or create a common platform that can be configured for diverse mobility needs. Cody Kou, Vice President of Ascentiz, emphasizes that the choice to go modular stems from the understanding that individuals move differently and do not always require the same assistance. The stresses placed on hips and knees vary with different activities, and Kou insists that portable robotics should adapt to these needs.
He states, “Our goal is to create a platform that can gradually integrate new functionalities instead of forcing users to start from scratch with each new model.” At the core of the system lies the Exo-Belt, which houses the battery, controller, and algorithms. It accommodates the H and K modules, which can be manually swapped in seconds using a rapid MOLLE attachment system. The H model propels the user forward and upward, while the K model offers adaptive knee support and controlled braking as knee loads increase.
Powered by BodyOS
The technology is powered by BodyOS, Ascentiz’s shared software and control platform designed for modular wearable robotics. This software, along with AZ-Lock for mechanical layers and CAN-FD for electrical communication layers, provides a cohesive framework that enables the H and K modules, and future components, to function seamlessly together.
In an effort to foster innovation, BodyOS will be open-sourced in 2026, allowing the system to evolve with software updates and new Ascentiz modules, as well as hardware developed by the global community of researchers and developers.
Availability and Pricing
Attendees of IFA Berlin can find the H and K models at Hall 12, Stand 109 from September 4 to 8. For those eager to experience these state-of-the-art exoskeletons, the Ascentiz-H is now available for purchase at €1,599 for the Pro model and €2,299 for the Ultra version. The Ascentiz-K is priced at €2,399 for the K Pro model and €2,999 for K Ultra, with the H+K configurations available at €3,599 for the Pro Combo and €3,999 for the Ultra Combo.
