Enhancing Disaster Preparedness: Experience-Based Event in Sendai

On March 14, 2026, an exciting event titled "Let's Experience! Disaster Prevention Festival with the Condominium Management Company" will take place at Talknet Hall in Sendai. Organized by Daiwa Life Next Co., Ltd. and Yoko Building Services Co., Ltd., the event aims to boost the disaster awareness of local residents through engaging, hands-on activities.

1. VR Booth

- VR Disaster Experience: Participants will wear VR goggles to virtually engage in various disaster scenarios like fires and earthquakes specific to condominium life. This immersive experience will allow participants to confront situations that may be difficult to reenact in real-world training safely.
- Emergency Toilet Experience: Learn how to use a portable emergency toilet essential during disasters by interacting with a demo unit (not for actual use during emergencies).
- Craft Workshop: Families can enjoy creating disaster preparedness items using everyday materials, such as newspaper slippers and plastic ponchos.

2. Training Booth

- AED Training: Instructors from the Japanese Red Cross will provide a basic overview of how to use Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
- First Aid Training: Get a grasp on essential first aid skills that can be critical in emergencies, guided by qualified trainers from the Japanese Red Cross.

3. Fire Extinguisher Booth (Outdoor)

- Attendees can practice fire extinguishing techniques using water extinguishers in a target shooting format.
