ISFNet's Initiative to Improve IT Engineers' Conditions
ISFNet, a prominent IT infrastructure company based in Tokyo, is actively working to enhance the work environment for its IT engineers. Recently, the company hosted a series of events called "Homecoming Meetings" across various locations, aiming to improve the treatment and motivation of its employees. Each event was addressed by the CEO, Yukiyoshi Watanabe, who traveled to regional branches to share the company's future direction and goals.
A Nationwide Communication Effort
The Homecoming Meetings are held monthly, with Watanabe visiting different branches every three months to communicate directly with employees. This recent round took place on September 16 in Hiroshima, September 17 in Fukuoka, and on September 24 and 25 across three locations in Shizuoka Prefecture.
During the events, Watanabe discussed the company's five-year roadmap leading up to 2030, incorporating insights on the current status of the organization. Branch managers echoed the sentiment, passionately expressing their commitment to ensuring that engineers in regional areas receive treatment and career opportunities equivalent to their counterparts in the metropolitan regions.
Strengthening Skills and Evaluation Systems
With a noticeable increase in mid-level engineers at ISFNet, the company anticipates an expansion in its "skill-sharing" programs, enabling junior engineers to learn from experienced professionals. Significant changes are also being implemented in the evaluation system, with a new semi-annual review process that allows for faster advancements in ranks. In light of the recent economic challenges, the company is introducing measures that ensure dedication and effort are rewarded.
Starting June 2025, a new evaluation system will be added, focusing not only on relative performance but also incorporating customer feedback and pricing, thus aiming to provide a fair assessment of hard-working IT engineers.
A Vision for the Future
ISFNet is dedicated to creating a work environment where every employee feels proud and secure, aiming to provide stability and safety in the workplace. The company is committed to offering ongoing skill development to help nurture the top IT infrastructure engineers in Japan, ultimately producing professionals capable of supporting societal needs.
Understanding the Homecoming Meetings
The Homecoming Meetings are part of ISFNet's ongoing efforts to promote unity and engagement among employees spanning both IT and welfare sectors. This initiative allows staff from various departments to gather, share organizational vision, and enhance the collective sense of belonging, fostering a platform for employee voices to be reflected in management decisions.
