Qatar's Tasweer Museum Launches Global Photography Call for Under One Sky
The Tasweer Photography initiative of Qatar Museums has made an exciting announcement as part of its
Years of Culture program. In collaboration with the
Art in Embassies program of the U.S. State Department, the museum is calling for global submissions for a photography exhibition titled
Under One Sky. This exhibit celebrates the unity and shared spirit evoked during the
FIFA World Cup 2022™ held in Qatar.
Scheduled to launch in
early 2026, the exhibition will make its debut across several Qatari embassies in
Washington D.C.,
Ottawa, and
Mexico City, coinciding with the
FIFA World Cup 2026™. This initiative seeks to honor the friendships and the vibrant energy encapsulated by fans worldwide during the tournament. Through compelling photographs and personal narratives,
Under One Sky aims to highlight universal values such as joy, kindness, hospitality, and goodwill that brought people together during this historic sports event.

Dr. Aisha Abdulla Hamad Al Misnad, the Deputy Director for Special Projects at Years of Culture, and a key driver behind the initiative, expressed her vision:
“This project honors the spirit of the fans who made the 2022 World Cup a moment of joy and unity. By sharing these memories, we celebrate Qatar’s heritage as a hospitable nation and promote cultural dialogue through football.”
Call for Photographic Submissions
The photography competition has already commenced, with submissions open until
January 11, 2026 (11:59 PM Doha time, UTC+0300). Photographers from around the globe, aged 18 and over—regardless of their experience level—are eligible to submit their work. Each participant can submit a single image in either JPEG or TIFF format, with a minimum resolution of 3000 pixels on the longest side and file size between 3-8 MB. The application process is free of charge.
Categories for Submission
The submission categories are designed to capture a diverse range of experiences:
1.
Inside Qatar – For those who experienced the tournament first-hand.
2.
The Journey – Experiences arriving in Qatar.
3.
The Game – Excitement and anticipation at stadiums.
4.
Post-Game – Celebrations and shared joy after matches.
5.
Outside of Qatar – Global fan traditions and festivities in celebration of the event.
6.
Love for Football – Global fan culture, from home parties to public gatherings commemorating FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
Prizes and Selection Process
A total of
50 to 70 images will be selected for the exhibition across the three host countries. The top five submissions in each category will be awarded a prize of
$500. An expert jury will evaluate the contributions, and the winners will be notified via email. The culminating exhibition will serve as a visual archive that embodies global football fan culture, intertwining memories from
FIFA World Cup 2022™ with the celebrations surrounding the host nations of
World Cup 2026™.
