Celebrate Mount Fuji Day in Shizuoka City!
On February 23rd, Shizuoka City invites everyone to join in the celebrations for Mount Fuji Day. Known as ‘ふじのくに静岡,’ or ‘Fuji’s Country Shizuoka,’ the city showcases spectacular views of Mount Fuji from various scenic spots, including the UNESCO World Heritage site, Miho-no-Matsubara. This year’s festivities promise to highlight not only the breathtaking landscapes but also historical connections to Tokugawa Ieyasu, Japan’s first shogun.

Miho-no-Matsubara Cultural Center: Miho Shirube
One of the focal points for the Mount Fuji Day celebrations is the Miho-no-Matsubara Cultural Center. Here are some of the entertaining attractions lined up:

Mount Fuji Day Commemorative Quiz Rally:
Participants can take part in an exciting quiz relating to Mount Fuji while exploring the exhibits at Miho Shirube. Those who participate will receive delightful Mount Fuji-themed merchandise.

Pine Cone Hanging Decorations Making:
Engage in a creative workshop where you can create hanging decorations using pine cones from Miho-no-Matsubara, felt representations of Mount Fuji, and other accessories corresponding to the next year’s zodiac, the horse.
