Heather Wilkie Appointed CFO of Appetronix as Company Expands Autonomy in Restaurants
Appetronix Expands Leadership with New CFO Heather Wilkie
In a pivotal step towards enhancing its leadership team, Appetronix has announced the appointment of Heather Wilkie as the company's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Wilkie, a seasoned executive formerly with Compass Group Canada, brings a wealth of financial leadership and extensive operational experience to the rapidly growing autonomous restaurant enterprise.
Appetronix is at the forefront of innovation with its unique concept of fully autonomous robotic restaurants-in-a-box, which deliver made-to-order meals without the need for on-site staff. This game-changing model reflects a growing trend in the food service sector, which is increasingly leaning towards automation and efficiency.
Wilkie's arrival comes on the heels of the company's recent expansion beyond its initial project, a hamburger kiosk launched with HMSHost at the Columbus International Airport in June 2025. Under her fiscal leadership, Appetronix aims to scale its operations across North America and eventually into international markets.
Having spent seven impactful years with Compass Group Canada, Wilkie cultivated significant relationships with over 50 third-party organizations, including Appetronix. During her tenure at Compass, she demonstrated impressive growth, ascending through six promotions and expanding her role to oversee 100+ project implementations across more than 600 kitchens. Her experience not only underscores her capabilities but also highlights her familiarity with the operational challenges that food service businesses face.
Prior to her time at Compass, Wilkie played a critical role as the finance lead at Deloitte's Canadian Consulting practice, where she was instrumental in driving revenue growth strategies and operational efficiencies.
In her own words, Wilkie expressed an enthusiasm for joining Appetronix, stating, "I have watched Appetronix evolve, and what exists today is a different company. The leadership team is strong, the strategy around next-generation QSR is clear, and there is real start-up energy behind it. Combining that momentum with a commercialized product already operating in the field made this an opportunity I was excited to take on."
Nipun Sharma, Co-Founder and CEO of Appetronix, also commented on Wilkie's appointment, saying, "Heather has done the thing most finance leaders never get to do, which is run the numbers and then go build the operating machinery behind them. She has scaled complex food service operations across hundreds of kitchens, and was among the first to identify the potential of our technology while running the innovation team at Compass. Heather's experience allows us to prepare for our Series A in the coming months, which is exactly what this stage of growth requires."
Appetronix is on track to revolutionize the dining experience with its cutting-edge technology aimed at automating all aspects of restaurant operations, including cooking, plating, and cleaning. As the company moves forward, Wilkie's financial acumen will be crucial in supporting these advancements and positioning Appetronix as a leader in the food tech space.
In summary, Heather Wilkie's appointment marks a vital milestone for Appetronix as it gears up for further growth in the autonomous restaurant sector. Her unique blend of finance leadership and operational insight will undoubtedly play a significant role in the company's continued trajectory of innovation and success.
