William Cotter has played a vital role in advancing the organization’s objectives since 2019. Under his leadership, key advancements were made, including enhancing underwriting capabilities, expanding their national reach, and integrating the Physicians Insurance RRG into the main company operations. Cotter expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, stating, "Leading this team was a privilege, and Dr. Carlson embodies our commitment to high standards in medical practice and advocacy for our members."
The upcoming transition is seen as a timely move as the company celebrates its 45th anniversary. Dr. Carlson emphasizes his dedication to the mission of protecting and supporting healthcare professionals. He stated, "I’m honored to lead this organization in its efforts to guard the interests of our members, ensuring they can focus on providing superior care to their patients."
Dr. Carlson’s academic credentials add to his impressive profile; he is board-certified in family practice with a subspecialty in geriatrics. He holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a master’s in business administration from Alvernia University. His educational and professional background equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the nuances involved in medical malpractice insurance and risk management.
