Aphranel Celebrates Major Milestones at First Anniversary Summit in Shanghai
Aphranel®: Celebrating One Year of Innovation in Aesthetic Medicine
On May 20, 2026, Aphranel® celebrated its first anniversary at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. This remarkable event highlighted a year filled with significant achievements for the brand, particularly in the fields of regenerative aesthetics and international market expansion. As a part of the celebration, Aphranel announced the successful receipt of the EU MDR (European Union Medical Device Regulation) certification, a crucial milestone that enhances its credibility in the global medical aesthetics market.
A Year of Innovations
Aphranel, known for its pioneering work in developing the Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microsphere injectable facial filler, launched its product globally on May 8, 2025. This event marked the moment when Aphranel became the first company in China to receive Class III approval for its injectable facial fillers. The brand's commitment to scientific research and biomaterial innovation has paid off, as reflected in its rapid progress and market reception within just a year.
During the anniversary summit, Aphranel reported that it had delivered over 150,000 syringes across China, with a network of more than 620 medical clinics and over 700 certified physicians. Their expansion now reaches 28 provinces and 94 cities in China, establishing Aphranel as a significant player in the increasingly competitive aesthetic market.
Achieving EU MDR Certification
The EU MDR certification process, which took 2 years and 7 months to complete, involved extensive documentation and rigorous assessments, culminating in a monumental achievement for Aphranel. This groundbreaking certification positions Aphranel as the first facial injectable filler from China to obtain this recognition under the EU framework. With over 6,381 pages of technical documents and more than 120 internal regulatory meetings, the certification exemplifies the brand's dedication to quality and compliance.
Collaborating closely with BSI, a UK-based Notified Body recognized as one of the first organizations designated for the EU MDR certification, Aphranel was able to navigate this complex pathway successfully.
Launching Arc™ and New Initiatives
Another highlight of the anniversary was the introduction of Aphranel® MagicCrystal Arc™, the brand's second flagship product. This new addition aligns seamlessly with Aphranel's vision, expanding its offerings in facial contouring and regenerative aesthetics.
The summit also included a multidisciplinary roundtable discussion on biomaterial innovation, regenerative medicine, and the growing influence of Chinese innovations in the global aesthetic scene. Experts, including Professor Yuan Tun from Sichuan University, shared groundbreaking insights into the in vivo degradation kinetics and tissue remodeling mechanisms associated with Aphranel’s technology.
Furthermore, Aphranel announced the launch of The Norns' Plan, an initiative aimed at promoting global education and collaboration in regenerative aesthetics. This program focuses on knowledge sharing, international research collaboration, and the establishment of a mentor system for professionals in the field.
Artistic Expressions and Future Directions
The event was enriched by immersive artistic installations themed around butterflies and time, aptly reflecting Aphranel’s brand philosophy of “The Poetics of Time.” Looking ahead, Aphranel is set to expand its reach into Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The brand's founder, Guangming Lin, emphasized that Aphranel’s first anniversary is not merely a conclusion but the beginning of a new chapter filled with innovative horizons.
As Aphranel continues its journey in regenerative aesthetics, it remains committed to evolving its products and expanding its international footprint, fostering collaborations, and investing in the scientific research that drives the industry forward. This ambitious path underscores Aphranel's vision—a long-term commitment to reshaping the landscape of aesthetic medicine through innovation and education.
