LIVE BOARD Launches Impressive Digital OOH at Osaka Metro Hommachi Station
In an exciting development for advertisers and commuters alike,
LIVE BOARD, a leading digital out-of-home (OOH) advertising network operator based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced its partnership with
Osaka Metro to enhance digital advertising capabilities at the
Hommachi Station. Beginning on
November 4, 2025, the Hommachi Station signs will be integrated into the LIVE BOARD marketplace, allowing for an innovative approach to digital advertising.
The New Digital Landscape
This initiative marks a significant advancement in how ads will be delivered at one of Osaka's busiest stations, which served approximately
206,000 passengers daily, making it the fifth-busiest station of Osaka Metro. The station is a central hub located in the city's business district, providing crucial access to major business areas across the Kansai region. The new method of advertising will utilize
visibility-adjusted contact (VAC) metrics, employing location data from
NTT Docomo and advanced analytical techniques to estimate the actual number of viewers who encounter the ads.
Expanding the Reach
Previously, advertisers relied on traditional ad placement methods, which focused solely on the duration and frequency of the ads shown. The VAC method revolutionizes this by estimating how many unique individuals were likely to see the ads based on various data inputs.
The
Hommachi Station advertising medium has been notably enhanced by the addition of
four new columns and eight screens on the platform level, complementing the existing
eight columns and thirteen screens in the concourse area. This expansion results in a comprehensive
twelve columns and twenty-one screens dedicated to showcasing advertisements, ultimately transforming the station into a more potent advertising venue that can effectively engage with a diverse audience ranging from business professionals to tourists.
Target Audience
The dual presence in both the concourse and platform areas ensures that the advertisements resonate with various user demographics, thus maximizing outreach potential. This diverse targeting can boost engagement rates significantly as it caters to both local professionals and international visitors.
Future Prospects
LIVE BOARD will continue its commitment to operating the OOH market efficiently while creating new values aimed at expanding this segment. The OOH advertising landscape is continually evolving, and as such, LIVE BOARD aims to cater to the dynamic lifestyles and preferences of the modern consumer through tailored advertising solutions. With plans to explore more data-driven targeting strategies, the company's approach represents a paradigm shift within OOH advertising that was previously challenging to execute with traditional methods.
About LIVE BOARD
Founded with a strong emphasis on
data-driven insights, LIVE BOARD has set itself apart as the first company in Japan to implement VAC-based delivery in the OOH sector. This unique capability allows advertisers to engage audiences more accurately than ever, even during fluctuating public movement patterns, such as those seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their expansive network encompasses various outdoor, indoor, train, and station environments across Japan, backed by one of the country’s largest carriers' big data, enabling targeted advertising solutions based on demographics, a feat not achievable before in traditional OOH formats.
In summary, the collaboration between
LIVE BOARD and
Osaka Metro at Hommachi Station signals a progressive step forward in the world of digital advertising, promising increased visibility and engagement for businesses aiming to connect with a bustling urban audience.
