Tokyo Gas and Tech0 Collaborate on DX Training Program
Tokyo Gas is embarking on an exciting journey by collaborating with Tech0 to implement a hands-on DX human resource development program. This initiative aims to leverage technology not just within their IT department but across various sectors, including marketing and sales, to foster a culture of digital transformation throughout the organization.
The driving force behind this program is the WindMill Project, which focuses on cultivating digital marketing talent internally. The leader of this project participated in Tech0's Boot Camp, gaining insights on the importance of spreading this knowledge throughout the company. Inspired by this experience, they proposed the practical DX training endeavor that aligns with Tokyo Gas’s commitment to embrace digital change.
Practical Skills over Theoretical Knowledge
The innovative program offered by Tech0 focuses on developing practical technology skills that participants can immediately transfer to their work. Rather than simply acquiring theoretical knowledge, this program emphasizes hands-on experience, where participants can engage directly with technology.
A total of 21 motivated individuals dedicated more than 10 hours weekly, outside their regular work hours, for about two months. The result? All participants—who began the program with no prior experience in technology—successfully learned to develop web applications by integrating APIs and Generative AI with confidence.
Insights from Yuya Suzuki, Tokyo Gas Living Strategy Department
Yuya Suzuki from Tokyo Gas’s Living Strategy Department highlights the necessity for companies to genuinely pursue digital transformation. He believes that every employee must engage with technology to create value within their organization. After experiencing Tech0's Boot Camp himself, Suzuki realized the impact of having a fundamental understanding of technology. This insight shifts perspectives on what issues can be identified and the choices available to address them.
His conviction that this newfound understanding should be implemented organization-wide birthed this project—a crucial step towards reshaping their operations from the ground up. Suzuki aspires for this initiative to take root and evolve continuously, encouraging collaboration with his colleagues towards ongoing challenges.
