BOMA International recently made headlines by appointing Kjersten Jaeb from UnitedHealth Group as its new Chair and Chief Elected Officer, effective July 2026. This appointment signifies a noteworthy moment not just for BOMA, but also for the broader commercial real estate industry. Jaeb steps into this influential position after an illustrious career spanning two decades within the medical real estate sector, succeeding outgoing Chair Luci Smith.
Jaeb's Background and Expertise

Currently, she serves as the Vice President of Asset and Portfolio Management at UnitedHealth Group, where she manages the company's national real estate strategy and the asset management team. A Historic Choice for Leadership
With Jaeb’s appointment, she becomes one of the few women to hold such a prestigious position within BOMA International's history. This milestone emphasizes the association’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive leadership landscape. Reflecting on her journey, Jaeb expressed her sincere gratitude, stating, "It is an incredible honor to serve as Chair of BOMA International during such an exciting time for our industry."
Jaeb aims to inspire and encourage others to view leadership from various perspectives, asserting that there are multiple paths to leadership and representation. As only the fourth woman and among the youngest individuals to serve in this capacity, she acknowledges that her ascent could motivate others to pursue leadership roles within the industry.
Looking Ahead
In her new role, Kjersten Jaeb will collaborate closely with other executive members to navigate BOMA International’s strategic vision. Her key objectives include enhancing connections with members, advocating for industry innovation, and driving initiatives rooted in progress across the commercial real estate landscape. “This year, I look forward to building on the resilience, innovation, and servant leadership that defines BOMA and ensuring every member knows they belong here,” she added.
Mary Lue Peck, the current President and COO of BOMA International, also expressed optimism regarding Jaeb’s leadership. "Kjersten has long demonstrated a deep dedication to our industry and our association. We are delighted to welcome her as Chair and are confident that her vision and leadership will help guide BOMA International through an exciting period of opportunity and growth."

Newly elected members for the 2026-2028 Executive Committee of the Board of Governors include prominent figures like Andy Hayford and Elizabeth Despins who will join current executive members to strengthen the association’s governance.
Additionally, BOMA International honored Spencer Levy, Global Client Strategist and Senior Economic Advisor at CBRE, with its prestigious Henry H. Chamberlain Leadership Award, recognizing his impactful contributions to the commercial real estate community.
