YAMAGIWA's Impressive Showcase at Milan Design Week 2025
In April 2025, YAMAGIWA, a pioneering lighting design company based in Minato, Tokyo, participated in the highly anticipated Milan Design Week. This event, a global hub for design enthusiasts, featured YAMAGIWA’s latest lighting collections:
RAI,
TALIESIN®, and
JAKOBSSON LAMP. The exhibition took place at the elegant Villa Borsani, located within the ALCOVA venue, marking the international debut for these stunning lighting pieces, crafted in collaboration with the renowned porcelain brand Noritake.
The showcase was meticulously designed by acclaimed British designer
Faye Toogood, who infused the environment with her signature aesthetic. The interplay of YAMAGIWA's delicately illuminated fixtures and the Villa Borsani's distinctive architectural features created a serene and sophisticated atmosphere, truly showcasing the art of lighting.
Visitors to the exhibition were captivated by the seamless integration of porcelain and lighting, highlighting the craftsmanship and artistic vision that typify YAMAGIWA's approach. The fixtures provided a soft, luminous glow, accentuating the nuanced details of both the porcelain design and the villa's interiors. This harmonious blend of Japanese aesthetics and Western design principles left all attendees in awe, reflecting a profound emotional experience. The atmosphere was filled with appreciation as people wandered through the space, marveling at the unique execution of lighting and tableware, stirred by a wave of quiet inspiration.
