Our Commitment to Freshness
Imagawa Shokudo prides itself on delivering the freshest fish. Each day, fish arrives directly from Miura Port, ensuring its peak freshness is preserved. Experienced fishermen hand-select the catch, and innovative preservation techniques keep the fish in optimal condition without the need for market intermediaries.
Why Is Miura Fish So Delicious?
The Miura Peninsula boasts a unique geographical advantage, shaping the local waters where delicious fish thrive. The confluence of the Kuroshio current with the Tokyo Bay creates an ideal environment for fish to feed, resulting in the succulent catch famously known for its quality. Therefore, the saba offered at Imagawa Shokudo is not only fresh but also renowned for its rich flavor.
Enjoying Saba the Fresh Way
Typically, saba (mackerel) is challenging to eat raw due to its rapid spoilage. However, Imagawa Shokudo has overcome this challenge by sourcing fish directly from ports and utilizing skilled techniques to maintain its freshness. Guests can enjoy sashimi and rice bowls, indulging in the authentic taste of saba.
Health Benefits of Saba
Not only is saba delicious, but it is also highly nutritious. Packed with omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA and EPA, eating saba promotes heart health and helps reduce the risk of various lifestyle-related diseases. Thus, it’s not just a culinary delight but a powerhouse of nutrition for a healthy lifestyle.
