Pan Global Resources Reports Promising Copper Grades at Profunda Target in Spain
In a significant development for the mining sector, Pan Global Resources Inc. has announced promising results from its Profunda target, located within the Cármenes Project in northern Spain. The latest underground channel sampling has demonstrated high-grade copper deposits, along with noteworthy levels of cobalt, nickel, and silver. This intriguing discovery is particularly relevant, considering the historical context of the Profunda mine, which had ceased operations in the early 1930s after previously extracting these valuable minerals.
The results of the sampling involved 27 channel samples, which returned an average of 3.62% copper, 0.17% cobalt, 0.09% nickel, and 5.7 grams per ton of silver, highlighting the potential of the area. Notably, one of the samples exhibited a remarkable 25.7% copper alongside other substantial mineral content over a length of 1 meter. Another sample revealed 5.2% copper spread over a continuous length of 5 meters, further affirming the prospectivity of the Profunda target area.
This target has been outlined as covering an area of approximately 500 meters in length and 150 meters in width, supported by initial wide-spaced soil sampling which indicated copper anomalies. The geological mapping and sampling undertaken in this area suggest considerable potential for discovering additional high-grade mineral deposits.
Tim Moody, the President and CEO of Pan Global Resources, expressed optimism regarding these findings, emphasizing their implications for further exploration within the Cármenes Project. "These first detailed rock channel sample results from the walls of the underground mine workings indicate continuous intervals of higher-grade mineralization. The mining that took place here earlier extracted significant amounts of copper, cobalt, and nickel, which adds historical credence to the current exploration efforts," said Moody.
As drilling continues at the Providencia target, located just 1 kilometer north of Profunda, the company aims to confirm the continuity of high-grade mineralization and explore beyond previously mined areas. The Providencia site has demonstrated similar high-grade channel samples, underscoring the prospect of multiple rich deposits within the general vicinity.
The geological mapping indicates that the breccia mineralization is closely associated with a series of east-west trending fault structures, which are vital in determining the potential for further discoveries. Moreover, Pan Global Resources continues to leverage advanced technological methodologies, including electromagnetic surveys, to refine its understanding of the site and inform its drilling strategies.
Given the global shift towards electrification and energy transition, the importance of copper and other vital minerals has surged, placing projects like Cármenes in a pivotal position for future investments. Pan Global Resources is committed to advancing its strategy amid this burgeoning demand for strategic materials and is well positioned within the Iberian Pyrite Belt, one of the most productive mining districts in Europe.
With plans to enhance its exploration further, the company maintains a comprehensive approach to both operational safety and environmental stewardship, aligning with its mission to operate responsibly while maximizing the potential of its mineral deposits. The anticipation surrounding the ongoing drilling programs attests to the high expectations stakeholders have as operational results are expected to surface in the upcoming months. Market observers and investors are keenly waiting for further updates from Pan Global Resources as they continue to unveil the secrets of the Cármenes Project's rich mineral landscape.
