The inaugural Kamata Night Market, launched in 2025, was conceived with the goal of energizing the Ota District, a gateway to Japan. Despite the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions from a typhoon on the day of the event, the turnout was impressive. In addition to the visitor count, social media buzz was significant—recording 570,000 impressions on Instagram and reaching approximately 82,000 accounts. Consequently, various media outlets highlighted the event, enhancing its visibility and appeal.

For the 2026 event, Kamata Station's west exit will be transformed into a dazzling night market atmosphere illuminated with neon decorations. Visitors can stroll through an environment resembling an international night market, offering a feast for the senses with live performances and food stalls.

Kamata station serves as a hub, conveniently located near Haneda Airport, with roughly 91.67 million passengers traveling through it annually. However, many travelers head straight to Tokyo without fully exploring the Ota District. To encourage visitors to explore Kamata in the evening, the Tokyo Junior Chamber has initiated the night market as a way to leverage nighttime as a local resource.
