Wao High School Brings Back Its Popular Traveling Open School Events this Fall

Wao High School's Traveling Open School: A Chance to Explore Education

Wao High School, part of the Wao Future Academy in Okayama, is excited to announce the second round of its 'Traveling Open School' events this September and October. Following the success of its initial event held in July, these sessions will take place in Nagoya and Yokohama, offering middle and high school students the opportunity to engage directly with Wao's educators and current students.

What to Expect

In Nagoya

On September 19th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, students and their families can visit the rental conference room KUWAYAMA in Nagoya. The event includes several interactive segments:

1. Real Student Presentations: Students currently enrolled at Wao High will give presentations where they share insights from their learning experiences and school life. This is an excellent chance for prospective students to see the authentic moments of life at Wao High that go beyond brochures.

2. Philosophy Café: A unique interactive session that allows participants to take part in stimulating philosophical discussions. This engaging dialogue-based lesson is designed for everyone, requiring no advanced knowledge—just an openness to explore complex questions with peers.

3. Roundtable Discussion: An informal setting where students can directly ask questions to Wao’s educators about topics such as report writing, online classes, and general concerns they might have. Listeners are welcome to attend without participating.

In Yokohama

Following Nagoya, the event will be held on October 3rd at Blue Compass seminar and event space, only a 4-minute walk from Yokohama Station. The agenda includes:

1. Informative School Introduction: Wao faculty will clarify how online learning works, outlining the supportive environment available to students. This segment aims to demystify what it's really like to attend a correspondence school.

2. Experiential Learning in Liberal Studies: Participants can enjoy a face-to-face introduction to Wao High’s flagship class, 'Liberal Studies', where they’ll engage in dialogue around intriguing questions with both faculty and peers.

3. Individual Consultations: For those interested, individual sessions with educators will be available. This is a great opportunity to discuss personal concerns, such as academic performance or future aspirations, ensuring a tailored approach to every participant.
