Connecting Latin American Students with Japanese Companies at an Exciting Exchange Event

Successful Exchange Event Between Japanese Companies and Latin American Students

On August 22nd, we held the second "Corporate and International Student Exchange Event" at the Nippon Foundation building in Akasaka, Tokyo. This event aimed at facilitating connections between Japanese companies and students from Latin America, particularly those from Brazil, and providing insights into possible career paths and business opportunities.

With 16 Latin American-related companies in attendance and 53 students eager to learn, this year’s event exceeded the participation of last year. The primary goal was to help these students reassess the value of their roots while expanding their options for the future.

Engaging Corporate Introductions

The event kicked off with a brief one-minute introduction from each participating company. Following this, attendees were divided into small groups for a series of five detailed corporate presentations. Students were very engaged, listening attentively and asking questions to deepen their understanding of the various opportunities available.

The format provided a perfect blend of structured learning and informal networking. After the presentations, a period for open discussion allowed students and corporate representatives to converse freely, fostering a comfortable environment for relationship-building.

Many students expressed their appreciation for the experience, sharing comments like:
  • - "It was great to have a direct conversation with corporate representatives."
  • - "I learned a lot about companies that act as a bridge between Japan and Brazil."

These reflections highlighted the significant impact the event had on their understanding of potential careers and the companies operating between these two regions.

Networking Among Peers

After the formal exchanges, a student mixer was held, allowing attendees to strengthen their connections and build friendships amongst themselves. This aspect of the event proved to be an effective way for students to interact without the pressures of formal corporate discussions.
