Celebrating a Decade: Medline's Responsible Manufacturing Journey with WRAP
Medline International proudly marks the tenth anniversary of its partnership with WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production), further establishing its ongoing commitment to ethical manufacturing practices and supply chain integrity. This milestone reflects a decade of dedication to responsible business practices, focused on fairness, transparency, and high standards for social and working conditions.
The sustained partnership demonstrates Medline’s unwavering commitment to efficient, ethical production rooted in fundamental worker rights. This commitment is crucial in delivering quality health products that adhere to ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain.
WRAP is an independent global organization dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing practices. Through consistent social compliance assessments and audits, WRAP certification provides a framework for manufacturers to illustrate their dedication to responsible production and enhances transparency and accountability to clients and partners alike.
Oliver Watts, EMEA Director of Sustainability at Medline, stated, “Over the past decade, I have been particularly proud of the concrete advances we've achieved with WRAP to enhance our responsible practices while supporting quality, compliance, and worker respect.”
The WRAP certification is based on 12 core principles that cover various aspects, such as compliance with workplace laws and regulations, prohibition of forced and child labor, health and safety standards, fair compensation and benefits, working hours, non-discrimination, the freedom of association, and environmental responsibility.
Together, these standards help build a resilient and transparent supply chain that fosters ethical decision-making while strengthening trust among customers, employees, suppliers, and communities.
Hong Mei, Deputy Vice President of Program Integrity at WRAP, emphasized, “The sustainable partnership between Medline International and WRAP, along with Medline’s consistent commitment to social compliance, has significantly contributed to our mutual success in the health products sector. Together, we have reinforced responsible work practices, enhanced worker well-being, and established sustainable foundations for growth.”
