Introduction to Weekly Sunday Milk
In an exciting initiative designed to promote the enjoyment of milk and dairy products, J Milk is set to release the third issue of the SNS comic magazine 'Weekly Sunday Milk' on December 13, 2025. Building on the success of its previous issues, which were well-received in the fall of 2023 and at the end of 2025, this new edition promises to deliver engaging comic content centered around the theme of milk.
What to Expect from Volume 3
This upcoming volume will feature work from eight popular comic artists known for their vibrant storytelling on social media. The comics will be released sequentially over two seasons: during the winter holiday period (mid to late December 2025) and spring break (mid to late March 2026). Each artist will contribute one comic each weekend, allowing readers to experience a variety of stories that celebrate Japanese dairy.
The themes will continue focusing on domestically produced milk and dairy products, showcasing not only their versatility in everyday consumption but also the charm of Japan’s dairy farming culture. The diversity of genres will include essays, fantasy, and gags, providing something for everyone.
Special Edition Compilation
Following the individual releases, a special compilation of all the comics will be unveiled on March 29, 2026. This collection will be available on a dedicated section of the 'Weekly Sunday Milk' website, allowing fans to enjoy the stories in one complete format as a PDF.
Initiative and Purpose
The 'Weekly Sunday Milk' is part of a larger initiative to increase the consumption of milk and dairy products, spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and J Milk. Launched in June 2022 as part of the 'Milk Smiles Project', the magazine aims to inform consumers about the importance of incorporating domestic dairy products into their diets, especially during holiday periods when school meals are not available.
The ongoing dissemination of information is crucial in encouraging families to enjoy milk not just during school days, but throughout the year, fostering a culture of healthy, enjoyable dairy consumption.
