Chickie's & Pete's National French Fry Day Celebration

As National French Fry Day approaches, Chickie's & Pete's, a beloved sports bar and restaurant in Philadelphia, is gearing up for their annual celebration. On July 10, this popular dining establishment will offer their famous Crabfries® for just $1 each, continuing a cherished 13-year tradition. This initiative not only delights fans of delicious fries but also serves a greater purpose - all proceeds from the day’s sales will benefit the FOP Charitable Foundation, which supports various police-related initiatives in the Delaware Valley.

Since the inception of this event, Chickie's & Pete's has made substantial contributions, with donations exceeding $250,000 over the years. This significant support goes towards various charitable causes aimed at assisting police officers and their families. The FOP Charitable Foundation offers college scholarships for the children of active and retired officers and delivers essential financial and emotional support to families affected by line-of-duty tragedies.

In addition to their charitable contribution, the Chickie's & Pete's team actively engages with local community heroes. For this year's celebration, they will visit selected Philadelphia Police Districts and the Philadelphia Police Academy, providing free lunches to officers who perform vital roles in maintaining public safety.

"This celebration is one of our key philanthropic efforts, embodying the spirit of Chickie's & Pete's," said Pete Ciarrocchi, the owner and CEO. Their commitment to serving the community is reinforced by ongoing support from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, led by President Roosevelt Poplar. He expressed gratitude for Chickie's & Pete's consistent dedication, noting the brand's exemplary partnership in supporting police families.

Chickie's & Pete's began as a humble corner bar in Northeast Philadelphia in 1977, created by founders Peter and Henrietta Ciarrocchi. The establishment has grown to include 18 locations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Nevada, and Missouri. Known especially for their Crabfries®, the brand has extended its menu to cater to sports fans and families alike, combining traditional family values with the excitement of sports entertainment.

The Crabfries® have become a staple in venues nationwide, available in various popular locations including ballparks and amusement parks. With their unique flavor and signature recipes, it's no wonder that locals and visitors flock to Chickie's & Pete's to indulge in their culinary delights.

The ongoing efforts of Chickie's & Pete's to support the community exemplify the restaurant's commitment to not just being a place to enjoy great food, but also to actively participate in uplifting local heroes and their families.
