The culinary scene in Tokyo is about to become even more exciting with the grand opening of 'Doteppan,' a Monja and Teppanyaki tavern located just a two-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station, on August 8, 2025. This will mark the eighth establishment for Umapro Co., Ltd., under the leadership of CEO Shinya Kaneko, who is passionate about sharing his childhood love for Monja with the community. By bringing families and friends together around a hot plate, Doteppan aims to create cherished memories and promote the warmth of Japanese culture.

About Doteppan



'Doteppan' comes with a brand concept of "Bringing Tokyo's downtown culture to the world." The menu will primarily feature Monja, along with a wide array of Teppanyaki, snacks, and sashimi, ensuring that every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience. The venue combines the nostalgic warmth of the traditional downtown atmosphere with modern, sophisticated decor, appealing to diverse generations. To cater to smaller parties, Doteppan offers half-sized Monja options starting from 830 yen.

Since the original location opened in Kawasaki on November 1, 2021, Doteppan has been expanding steadily, and the upcoming Monzen-Nakacho branch marks the brand's first Tokyo venture.

Signature Dishes


  • - Delicious Monja
Experience the delightful aroma and melt-in-your-mouth texture of Doteppan’s Monja. Featuring carefully selected stock and finely-tuned seasoning, each dish is cooked with meticulous care using the freshest seafood, directly sourced from Tsukiji. The signature dish 'Mentai Mochi Cheese Baby Star' is available in full and half sizes, catering to 2-4 diners at 1,680 yen (full) and 980 yen (half).

  • - Irresistible Okonomiyaki
Doteppan’s Okonomiyaki is crafted with a special dashi, creating a unique contrast between its crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The Doteppan original sauce, made with Hokkaido’s own Rishiri kombu, enhances the natural sweetness and depth of flavor. The 'Special Pork Tama' is priced at a reasonable 980 yen.

  • - A Diverse Menu
To complement the cooking, Doteppan offers an impressive selection of drinks, ensuring customers have a fantastic time eating and sipping on their favorite beverages. One of the highlights is the luxurious seafood platter at 3,880 yen.

Grand Opening Campaign


To celebrate the grand opening, Doteppan is offering a special promotion from August 8-10, 2025. The first 50 groups each day will receive a complimentary serving of 'Iwanori Cream Monja,' a popular dish valued at 1,680 yen. Reservations are not being accepted, so it’s a first-come, first-served basis.
