ChangAn Automobile Expands into Europe with New Electric Models



In a move set to redefine the electric vehicle landscape in Europe, ChangAn Automobile has officially unveiled its three primary brands—CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR. This launch took place in Mainz, Germany, at a high-profile event named "Sharing the Future." This significant milestone heralds a new phase in ChangAn's ambitions under the "Broad Ocean" plan, reinforcing its commitment to technological advancement and sustainability.

During the event, the spotlight was on the DEEPAL S07, which made its European debut, alongside the CHANG-AN E07 and DEEPAL S05, whose market introduction is scheduled for later. By showcasing cutting-edge technologies in intelligence and electrification, ChangAn aims to cater to the rising European demand for high-performance electric vehicles.

ChangAn's technological innovations are recognized globally, driven by a collaborative global R&D system that spans six countries and ten locations. The company is supported by more than 18,000 R&D employees from 31 nations, in addition to 16 tech research and development centers, 17 tech enterprises, and 180 laboratories (including national-level ones), positioning it as a critical player in the European electric vehicle market.

The company has laid out a structured market entry strategy, initially targeting key electric vehicle markets such as Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. By 2028, ChangAn plans to establish a strong foothold in all major European markets. Its European headquarters, located in the Netherlands, will serve as the main hub for business operations, while a commercial office has been set up in Munich, Germany. Currently, around 500 experts, including experienced designers and engineers from Italy and the UK, are employed across Europe. The company is dedicated to expanding its local talent pool to support innovation and enhance market engagement.

"ChangAn is an open and collaborative company with a clear mission to be a leader in sustainable mobility and bring benefits to human lives. This year, we aim to achieve global sales of three million units. Out of these, one million will be electrified vehicles. By 2030, we aspire to deliver five million vehicles annually, of which three million will be electrified. Together, we promote innovations for a better future."
