Celebrating 100 Years of Hollywood Beauty Group

From October 8 to 9, Hollywood Beauty Group will proudly host a special archive exhibition to commemorate its centennial anniversary. This free event invites guests to celebrate a legacy that has empowered women and delivered beauty and happiness for a full century.

Founded in 1925 by Kiyoto Ushiyama, Hollywood Beauty Group has embraced the philosophy of bringing beauty and joy to customers. Ushiyama took a bold step by traveling alone to the United States, where he serendipitously discovered the world of beauty within the vibrant atmosphere of Hollywood's flourishing film industry. Upon his return to Japan, he partnered with renowned beautician Mei Ushiyama to establish a new cultural approach to beauty.

Over the decades, Hollywood Beauty Group has weathered numerous economic downturns and societal challenges, yet the principle of sharing beauty and happiness has remained steadfast at the core of its mission. The company promotes the belief that 'women can be beautiful and have fun,' and leads initiatives in societal contribution and community support.

Special Archive Exhibition

As part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations, the exhibition will showcase a range of historical products released over the past century, alongside a collection of invaluable artifacts that encapsulate the ever-evolving beauty landscape. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to view original cosmetic bottles from the 1930s, including the innovative reinforced plastic containers and decorative bottles that have since become the industry standard.

Among the highlights is showcasing treasured personal belongings of Mei Ushiyama, as well as over 50 books she authored or collaborated on. This exhibition promises to take attendees on a nostalgic journey while also offering new revelations for the younger generation, sparking inspiration for the future.
