Biscuit Belly Set to Grow with 20 Locations by the End of 2026

Biscuit Belly's Ambitious Path to Expansion in 2026

Biscuit Belly, a rapidly expanding brunch franchise renowned for its handcrafted biscuits and genuine Southern hospitality, is on the verge of achieving a major milestone by the end of 2026: a target of 20 operational restaurant locations. As the brand concludes 2025, it boasts an impressive slate of signed leases and strategic plans that set the stage for significant growth.

Current Status and Growth Strategies

Presently, Biscuit Belly operates 13 locations across several states including Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This year, the company signed six new leases, and its recent opening in Summerville, South Carolina has added another layer of momentum. CEO Chad Coulter expresses strong confidence about the brand’s future, emphasizing the importance of high performance to meet their ambitious goals. “We’re at 13 locations now, and we’re confident we’ll hit that 20-location mark by the end of next year,” he stated.

The company’s strategy has emphasized laying a solid development foundation and identifying lucrative real estate opportunities for the upcoming year. This expansion phase targets markets across North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Ohio, increasing the number of operational states from six to nine. Notably, two new sites in Columbus, Ohio, and Houston, Texas, are generating substantial excitement among franchise supporters.

Exciting New Locations on the Horizon

The Columbus location, strategically sited in the bustling Grandview neighborhood near Ohio State University's campus, drew considerable interest with several competing offers. However, the landlord showed a preference for Biscuit Belly and chose to partner with them, highlighting their unique concept. Coulter mentioned that professionals in branding are engaged to ensure this location dazzles customers as their flagship outlet in Ohio.

In addition to the promising Columbus opening, franchise development is gaining speed with two new multi-unit agreements. One is positioned in Houston while the other spans the Florida Panhandle. These partnerships illustrate the appealing nature of Biscuit Belly's franchise model, attracting seasoned operators with a strong background in retail and food services.

Financial Management and Profitability

In its pursuit of growth, Biscuit Belly is also rigorously evaluating its operating costs. Changes to supplier agreements and shifting to more competitive vendors have resulted in cost reductions without compromising the quality of offerings. Remarkably, this financial scrutiny has been coupled with effectiveness, as store-level profitability remains higher than ever, despite facing challenges like inflation and traffic issues.

“Our profitability is resilient, and we will continue to refine our business model without sacrificing quality or the brand's essence,” assured Coulter. Furthermore, catering sales have become a significant growth driver, now accounting for over 10% of total sales. With plans to introduce a dedicated catering ordering service and an internal sales team, they anticipate continuing this growth trajectory through 2026 and beyond.

Future Aspirations

The immediate vision for Biscuit Belly is to focus on their ongoing store developments, ensuring that they successfully reach the target of 20 locations by the conclusion of 2026. Looking further ahead, the brand aims to add another two or three multi-unit operators while lining up at least five additional projects for rollout in 2027. Their sights are set on extending their support into areas including Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and Texas.

Coulter emphasizes a thoughtful approach to expansion: “We want to be strategic with our growth—we’re not just aiming for sheer numbers. Quality must remain our guiding principle as we scale.”
