In a fascinating collaboration, Nestlé Professional Solutions has partnered with the celebrated actress and producer Sofía Vergara and her son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, to debut a brand-new line of TOMA Empanadas in the foodservice space. This exciting launch emerges from a shared passion for authentic Latin cuisine, aiming to bring vibrant and rich flavors to food service operators across the country.

The TOMA brand, crafted by Vergara and her son, intends to make Latin culinary heritage accessible through high-quality, convenient food options designed specifically for restaurants and other food service establishments. During the recent National Restaurant Show, two unique varieties of TOMA Empanadas were showcased, hinting at the delicious offerings that await consumers. The two flavors include:

1. Beef Empanada: A delectable mix of savory beef, sweet tomatoes, kalamata olives, onions, paprika, and chilis, creating a mouthwatering treat.
2. Chicken Empanada: Made with pulled dark meat chicken blended with tomatillo, jalapeño, cilantro, and garlic Salsa Verde for an exciting burst of flavor.

Fleur Veldhoven, the Vice President of Marketing at Nestlé Professional Solutions, expressed enthusiasm regarding this partnership and the products it has generated. “With TOMA, we're introducing something truly special—chef-approved flavors and ingredients that provide a convenient back-of-house solution,” she said. The collaboration encapsulates a commitment to presenting authentic Latin-inspired dishes with confidence and consistency.

The rise in the demand for globally inspired grab-and-go foods presents a prime opportunity for this empanada line. Research firm Datassential reveals that 54% of restaurant operators plan to add more portable snacks to their menus. According to Technomic, 40% of consumers prefer to visit eateries that offer adventurous and innovative flavor profiles.

Designed for optimum convenience, the TOMA Empanadas come frozen and can either be cooked straight from the freezer or after thawing. They can be prepared in a variety of methods including TurboChef® ovens, convection ovens, or fryers, making them particularly advantageous for kitchens with limited space.
