Exploring AI-Driven HR Evaluation: An Online Workshop Recap
On April 10, 2025, Trustyyle, headquartered in Chuo City, Tokyo, organized an online workshop as part of its initiative, the HR Library. This event revolved around the concept of integrating generative AI into the HR evaluation process, with the guiding theme being “Let’s give it a try.” The workshop aimed to provide participants an experiential understanding of using generative AI to set goals and conduct evaluations.
Event Overview
The workshop introduced essential steps in HR evaluations using popular generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude. Participants engaged in two main activities:
1.
Goal Setting Assistance: Attendees generated a draft of their goals by inputting major objectives, roles, career aspirations, and growth challenges into a generative AI system. The AI would then present tailored goal proposals and evaluation criteria. However, participants were reminded that a final review and adjustments by supervisors or individuals were necessary.
2.
Feedback Comment Generation: Using the established goals and evaluation metrics, participants entered performance data (such as sales figures, activities, and personal reflections) for the generative AI to create structured feedback comments. This step enabled the automatic production of specific insights regarding each individual's strengths, areas for improvement, and future recommendations.
Reflections on the Workshop
The workshop unveiled that generative AI could streamline the creation of feedback comments considerably. By producing well-organized text outputs, the tool helped reduce the time and effort typically needed for manual comment drafting. Nonetheless, the participants recognized that, despite the efficiency gained, the AI-generated content requires an additional dialogue process between supervisors and employees to ensure alignment and understanding of the feedback provided.
Future Developments
To build on the insights and experiences gained from this workshop, Trustyyle plans to organize regular practice sessions and forums focusing on generative AI in HR evaluations. This initiative aims to gather valuable knowledge from participants and continuously improve the use of AI technologies in human resources.
Please be advised that the findings from this workshop, along with any potential issues related to AI-assisted HR evaluations, remain the responsibility of the individuals conducting the evaluations and utilizing the tools.
