National Vietnam War Veterans Day Celebration Planned by Veterans United Home Loans

National Vietnam War Veterans Day Celebration in D.C.

On March 29, 2026, Veterans United Home Loans will host a significant event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to honor Vietnam veterans. This grand celebration, fifty years in the making, coincides with National Vietnam War Veterans Day and aims to publicly recognize the sacrifices made by these service members.

The celebration will kick off with a ceremonial Welcome Walk, featuring The Military District of Washington's Army Field Band leading veterans from various service branches. This symbolic walk will pass in front of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, allowing the community to gather along Constitution Avenue and cheer for the participants. The event is free, encouraging public participation to celebrate the contributions of Vietnam veterans.

Pam Swan, Vice President of Military Relations at Veterans United, emphasized the importance of this event, stating, "This is a homecoming 50 years in the making. As we mark five decades since the end of the Vietnam War, these Veterans are now in their 70s and 80s. This event gives our nation the opportunity to come together in the heart of Washington, D.C., to publicly honor their service and sacrifice."

Following the Welcome Walk, a tribute concert will take place near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, featuring performances by Gary Sinise and The Lt. Dan Band, with actor Rob Riggle serving as the master of ceremonies. Country music artist Craig Morgan, who is also an Army Reserve soldier, will perform, further highlighting the event's patriotic spirit.

Additionally, Veterans United will unveil a trailer for an upcoming documentary that chronicles the powerful journey of ten Vietnam veterans revisiting Vietnam for the first time since the war. Narrated by Gary Sinise, this documentary will share their reflections and experiences from this emotional return, with the full film set to release later this year.

Veterans interested in participating in the Welcome Walk and attending the concert must register in advance to secure seating in the designated Veteran section. Family members and friends are also invited to join in the general public area. Complimentary shuttle transportation will be available for registered veterans and their guests.

This year marks a historic occasion, as it's the first time that National Vietnam War Veterans Day will feature a dedicated concert and public acknowledgment of veterans on Constitution Avenue. The event is supported by the Gary Sinise Foundation and various partners, ensuring a robust experience celebrating Vietnam veterans.

Veterans United Home Loans, located in Columbia, Missouri, is the nation's largest VA lender, with a strong commitment to helping veterans and service members utilize their home loan benefits. In fiscal year 2025, the company facilitated financial support exceeding $23.8 billion in loans, further demonstrating their dedication to servicing our heroes.

This important celebration provides an opportunity for the community to come together, offering recognition and appreciation for the brave individuals who served during the Vietnam War. With heartfelt gratitude, everyone is encouraged to join in and make March 29 a memorable day of honor and camaraderie.
