UNIQLO Collaborates with Feeding America to Tackle Food Insecurity Across the U.S.

UNIQLO Partners with Feeding America to Provide 2 Million Meals

On February 13, 2025, global apparel retailer UNIQLO announced a significant initiative in collaboration with Feeding America®, aiming to provide two million meals to combat food insecurity across the United States. This partnership represents a concerted effort to leverage the purchasing power of fashion to support local communities facing hunger.

The plan is to ensure that from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, a minimum of $200,000 will be donated to the Feeding America network of food banks. UNIQLO will contribute $150,000 upfront; the remaining $50,000 will be raised through in-store donations at checkout.

During prominent periods throughout the year, both corporate teams and store staff will volunteer at Feeding America's partner food banks, reinforcing their commitment to effecting change where it's needed most. Jean Shein, UNIQLO's Global Director of Sustainability, emphasized the brand’s mission to positively impact communities through collective action. She stated, "By contributing the equivalent of 2 million meals, we aim to bring tangible relief to people who need it most."

Feeding America operates a vast network of over 200 food banks and 60,000 partner agencies, which helps serve millions of people who experience food insecurity—47.4 million in 2023 alone. The need has increased due to various factors including rising living costs, health issues, and the end of pandemic relief measures.

Lauren Biedron, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America, expressed gratitude for UNIQLO’s generous contributions, stating, "Their commitment will provide critical assistance to individuals and families facing hunger, helping them gain access to the resources they need to thrive. Together, we can work toward a future where no one has to worry about their next meal."

This partnership builds on a prior collaboration between UNIQLO and Feeding America, following the wildfires in Maui in August 2023. During that event, UNIQLO activated its in-store donation feature, successfully raising $68,897, which the company matched.

Through this current initiative, UNIQLO highlights its dedication to corporate social responsibility and the belief that retail can be a powerful agent of positive change. Beyond offering quality clothing, they are directly contributing to a solution for hunger in America by ensuring that many individuals have the food necessary to live and thrive.

For anyone interested in learning more about this partnership or contributing, further information can be found on UNIQLO's official website. As noted, each dollar raised helps provide at least ten meals through Feeding America’s local partner food banks.
