Lithography Technique
Lithography is a time-honored printing method that has been practiced for over 200 years. Unlike more complicated techniques such as etching, lithography allows for the easier reproduction of images, making it a favored choice for artists.
In this exhibition, Araki’s works utilize modern lithographic methods where artists apply their designs directly to metal plates, maintaining the unique texture and fidelity of the original drawings.
The Draw of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Launched in
1986 in
Weekly Shonen Jump,
"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" has ever since become a cultural phenomenon, captivating fans worldwide. The series is known for its innovative portrayal of stands — supernatural manifestations that provide unique abilities to their users. Each stand is often depicted in various forms, ranging from humanoid shapes to fluid or mechanical appearances.
Lenticular Art
Alongside lithographs, the exhibit will feature
lenticular prints, which utilize a special lens to create dynamic images that appear three-dimensional from different viewing angles. This technology enhances the viewing experience as it plays with human perspective, allowing viewers to witness the art in a new, immersive way.
These lenticular pieces capture the vibrant essence of Araki’s characters, tweaked through advanced printing methods, and blurring the lines between traditional manga and modern fine art.
