Introducing Aromatic Experiences at Haneda Airport
TOMOKO SAITO AROMATIQUE STUDIO, led by the esteemed aroma designer Tomoko Saito, is set to revolutionize the ambiance at Haneda Airport. Starting from October 1, 2025, this innovative studio will participate in a pilot project under the initiative
terminal.0 HANEDA, aimed at enhancing passenger experience through the integration of natural scents derived from Japan's rich forests. With a focus on traditional Japanese fragrance culture, this project seeks to transform one of Japan's most vital travel hubs into a welcoming sensory experience for its users.
Overview of terminal.0 HANEDA
Located within the Haneda Innovation City, terminal.0 HANEDA serves as a research and development base spearheaded by Japan Airport Building Company. This initiative already welcomes participation from 36 companies, two universities, and one organization, all of whom engage with various themes such as security improvements, spatial design, and future airport solutions.
The overarching aim of terminal.0 is to ripple its findings across Haneda Airport and eventually branch out to airports nationwide and globally, fostering a new era of airport experiences enhanced by cutting-edge sensory technology. TOMOKO SAITO AROMATIQUE STUDIO brings its expertise to this project under the theme of “Enhancing Airport Experiences through Aroma.”
