A New Culinary Delight for Summer
As July approaches and the Doyo no Ushi no Hi, or Day of the Ox, nears, a culinary sensation is taking Asakusa by storm: the 'Hami-Deru Unagi Tamago' from Age.3. The team at ANCHOR Corporation, based in Fukuoka and led by CEO Koji Nakajima, has developed this unique menu item specifically for summer, set to become a staple this season.
The dish features robust domestic unagi (eel) that literally spills out of a fluffy, sweet tamago (Japanese omelet), further complemented by savory rice and a delectable sauce. When nestled in crispy fried bread, it creates a dining experience perfectly aligning with Asakusa's vibrant streets. As the trend of visually appealing foods continues, this unagi dish stands out as a summer favorite not to be missed!
Redefining Unagi Dining
Unlike traditional unajyu (grilled eel served over rice), which carries a certain prestige, the 'Hami-Deru Unagi Tamago' redefines how we enjoy unagi while respecting its rich flavors and cultural heritage. This inventive creation combines the umami of eel, the softness of eggs, and the toasty goodness of fried bread, forming an exquisite triad of taste. The objective behind this endeavor is audacious: to erase the notion of unagi being a luxury ingredient, making it accessible to a younger audience, tourists, and inbound visitors keen to savor traditional Japanese cuisine.

In each fried sandwich, a specially developed low-sugar whipped cream is used, with a unique blend achieving the taste of traditional sweetness without sugar. This natural sweetener, 'Lacanto,' brings together high-purity extracts from monk fruit and erythritol, creating a delightful cream that is refreshing and never tiresome to enjoy.
