33rd East China Fair Set to Welcome Thousands



The bustling metropolis of Shanghai is gearing up for the 33rd East China Fair (ECF), a significant event in the realm of foreign trade. Scheduled from March 1 to March 4, 2025, this year's fair is projected to attract more than 40,000 purchasers from both domestic and international markets.

Since its inception in 1991, the East China Fair has evolved into a crucial indicator of trends within China’s foreign trade landscape. This year, the event brings together participants from cities and provinces along the eastern coast of China, including Shanghai, Nanjing, Ningbo, as well as the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Shandong. Notably, Shanghai Silk Group Co., Ltd. will be presenting its popular women's clothing brand, LILY, at the fair. Calvin Chen, the director overseeing LILY’s international business, conveyed excitement about the products displayed, many of which are set to reach Southeast Asian markets by the end of March.

Further pushing the boundaries of creativity, numerous foreign trade enterprises are set to unveil innovative products tailored to niche markets. Among them, Jiangxi Daishing POF Co., Ltd. will spotlight its unique “luminescent” fabrics woven from plastic optic fibers and yarns, designed to emit light in low visibility conditions. This innovation aims to enhance the safety of products like baseball caps and pet apparel during nighttime.

Networking and Growth



He Jian, responsible for business development at Jiangxi Daishing, noted that the previous fair helped them develop around 20 to 30 new client relationships and sparked interest from numerous inquiries as the current fair commenced. Such networking opportunities are pivotal in fostering growth and establishing long-term partnerships.

As Ji Shengjun, president of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export, pointed out, innovations have fortified China's export resilience. The growing proportion of high-tech and intensive industry exports is reshaping the nation's trading environment, leveraging advancements to improve competitive advantages in global markets.
