Royal Park Hotel Unveils New Year Afternoon Tea Celebrating 2026 Year of the Horse

Celebrate the New Year with an Exquisite Afternoon Tea at Royal Park Hotel

As the year draws to a close and the festive spirit fills the air, Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo is preparing to delight guests with its limited-edition New Year Afternoon Tea, available from December 26, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Nestled in the heart of Nihonbashi, the hotel's 1F Lobby Lounge, Fontaine, will be the perfect venue to ring in the Year of the Horse with an elegantly curated selection of delicacies that harmoniously blend Japanese and Western flavors.

A Thematic Culinary Experience Inspired by the Year of the Horse

This year’s Afternoon Tea pays homage to the 2026 zodiac sign, the Horse, featuring charming motifs and auspicious Japanese ingredients. The centerpiece of the experience is a chocolate sculpture designed to resemble traditional Kagami mochi, delicately adorned with a tangerine and a vibrant folding fan, symbolizing the celebratory essence of the New Year. Guests can indulge in delightful treats such as cookie-shaped Hagoita (shuttlecocks) filled with raisin butter cream, refreshing ginger bavarois paired with fruit warabi mochi, and a rich matcha roll cake filled with sweet red bean paste and cream.

But that's not all! The savory selection includes visually stunning dishes like a smoked salmon tortilla roll styled like a Kadomatsu (a traditional Japanese New Year's decoration), and a Caprese salad showcasing the festive red and white theme. Even the Carrot Blanquette Muffin, topped with buttercream carrots, adds a playful touch to the stand.

The Complete Afternoon Tea Experience

Guests can expect to sample an array of flavors through the meticulously designed three-tiered offering:
  • - Upper Tier: Chocolate sculpted sweets, raisin butter Hagoita cookies, ginger bavarois, and fruit warabi mochi
  • - Middle Tier: Kadomatsu roll cake, horseshoe-shaped onion pie, Japanese chestnut Kintsuba, and carrot blanquette muffins
  • - Lower Tier: Smoked salmon tortilla rolls, festive Caprese skewers, and octopus-style Namasu with a delightful pepper twist

Additionally, a separate plate will feature a vegetable potage and two types of scones (plain and hojicha with sweet adzuki beans) accompanied by clotted cream, strawberry jam, and apricot jam. The experience is complemented by a selection of 17 types of free-flowing teas from Smicks Tea.

The hourly offering runs from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Fontaine, with an indulgent price of 8,000 yen per person—all prices include tax and service fees. Reservations can be made by calling 03-5641-3600, available from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
