Experience Spring at Marunouchi Street Park 2026
The Marunouchi area, recognized as the heart of Japan's economic activities, will host the highly anticipated "Marunouchi Street Park 2026" from March 20 to April 5. This year, the initiative is organized by the Marunouchi Street Park 2026 Executive Committee, which includes the Daimaru Yū Area Management Association and Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. The event aims to explore and experiment with new ways of utilizing the Marunouchi Nakadori street.
A Fusion of Art and Springtime Festivities
In collaboration with the renowned haute jewelry maison Van Cleef & Arpels and celebrated French illustrator Charlotte Gastaut, visitors will be greeted with an enchanting array of installations that celebrate the arrival of spring. This year’s theme is "Spring is Blooming in Marunouchi," which will visually transform three blocks of the Nakadori with vibrant art and interactive spaces. It promises to be a gathering point for conversations and interactions among people of all ages, effectively weaving new stories through shared experiences.
As evening falls, the installations will be illuminated from 5 PM to 9 PM, offering a magical display that contrasts beautifully with its daytime presence.
A Groundbreaking Initiative for Urban Spaces
Starting in 2019, the Marunouchi Street Park initiative has reached its 16th event, creating high-quality spaces that encourage both lingering and exploration among workers and visitors in the area. This public space utilization experiment is a vital step towards fostering a walkable and livable city, contributing to the vibrancy and liveliness of the Daimaru Yū area. This endeavor is part of the larger
Park Street Tokyo initiative, aimed at transforming urban spaces into pedestrian-friendly environments from car-centric designs.
Engaging Workshops to Celebrate Spring
From March 20 through April 5, on weekends and holidays, the event will offer a variety of hands-on workshops, including coloring activities and windmill-making, to celebrate the arrival of spring. These workshops provide attendees, especially children, an opportunity to connect with the season in creative ways.
Immersive AR Experiences
Beginning March 20, attendees can also look forward to interactive AR content via the Van Cleef & Arpels LINE official account. Participants will have the chance to engage in a unique experience of capturing hidden blue butterflies within the installations, using their smartphones to unlock magical surprises.
