With an extensive career spanning over 25 years, Borgwing is a seasoned executive whose credentials include high-level leadership roles across diverse sectors such as technology, financial services, defense, and cybersecurity. She has successfully led multiple firms as CEO and CFO, earning recognition for her capacity to drive financial performance, improve operations, and oversee enterprise-scale transformations.

Bill Loughman, the Managing Director at Newport’s Southeast practice, emphasized the significance of Borgwing’s experience, stating that her senior-level expertise, along with her commendable reputation, provides exceptional value to clients confronting complex growth and risk challenges. “Mary Beth is precisely the type of leader our clients depend on as they prepare for significant growth or aim for a successful financial exit,” Loughman remarked.

In addition to her role at Newport, Borgwing is currently serving on the board of SentriQs, a company that develops quantum-safe advanced security collaboration software. Moreover, she holds the position of Chair Emeritus at The Cyber Guild, a cybersecurity nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. She also founded C.R.E.S.T., a nonprofit organization in Vero Beach dedicated to supporting community and economic resilience.

Prior to her current appointment, Borgwing had notable tenures as CFO and Treasurer for Jones Group International, as well as serving as CEO and Chief Strategy Officer for cybersecurity companies LemonFish and Vigilant, both of which were eventually acquired by prominent firms. Her academic credentials include an MBA from Simmons Graduate School of Management, along with undergraduate degrees in accounting and computer science.
