Mark Zipperer Takes the Helm of IHG Owners Association for 2025



On January 21, 2025, the IHG Owners Association announced the appointment of Mark Zipperer as the new Chair of its Global Board of Directors for the upcoming year. With a career spanning several decades in the hospitality industry, Zipperer currently serves as President and CEO of Pride Hospitality, LLC, based in Germantown, Tennessee. He founded the company in 1998, focusing on managing a wide portfolio of hotels under various leading brands.

Zipperer’s journey began in 1982 when he took his first steps as a management trainee at Holiday Inn properties in Milwaukee and Chicago. Over the years, he has held influential roles, including Director of Franchise Services for IHG across the Central U.S. and Latin America. His involvement with the IHG Owners Association dates back to 1997, and he has been a member of the Global Board of Directors since 2020, having previously served for six years.

As he steps into his role as chair, Zipperer expresses his commitment to enhancing the financial returns for members who invest in IHG hotels. He acknowledges the ongoing importance of innovation and networking in the hospitality sector. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the association, he remarks, “I am honored to serve as chair of the IHG Owners Association... Together with the Global Board, we will focus on positioning our members for success and promoting collaboration within the industry.” Zipperer aims to not only enhance financial performance but also drive philanthropic initiatives like the association's existing partnership with Give Kids The World.

The newly-formed Global Board of Directors includes other notable members who will collaborate with Zipperer in 2025. Among them are Prakash Maggan, serving as Chair Elect, alongside Euan McGlashan as Treasurer and Juan Carlos Alvarez as Secretary. Each member brings a wealth of experience from their respective backgrounds in hospitality, ensuring that the interests of over 5,000 IHG property owners are represented effectively.
