On May 28, 2025, VENTURAS, a pioneering company in matching Bangladeshi engineers with Japanese businesses, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) to bolster the recruitment of IT talent from Bangladesh. This partnership aims to address the critical shortage of engineers in Japan by enhancing connections with skilled young IT professionals in Bangladesh.

The signing ceremony took place on the ULAB campus with key figures in attendance. Dr. Muhammad Golam Kibria, a Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, and Prof. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, the Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, were present alongside the CEO of VENTURAS, Satoko Ueda. The Context for the MOU
Japan faces a chronic shortage of IT professionals, particularly in the younger demographic, where companies are struggling to attract and retain talented engineers. On the other hand, Bangladesh boasts a wealth of eager and technically skilled young professionals. This synergy created a fertile ground for collaboration between VENTURAS and ULAB, leading to the establishment of a comprehensive support framework aimed at "education to employment" and beyond.
The MOU outlines several key areas of collaboration which include:
- - Japanese Language Education: Providing language training up to N3 proficiency level.
- - Career Support: Assisting students with resume writing, conducting mock interviews, and hosting job hunting seminars.
- - Joint Recruitment Events: Co-hosting company selection events and information sessions on the ULAB campus.
- - Database Access: Establishing a system for companies to access information on current students and alumni.
- - Mentorship Programs: Connecting students with ULAB alumni working in Japan for mentoring and networking opportunities.
Through these efforts, Japanese companies will gain a consistent and systematic approach to recruiting talented engineers from ULAB.
