On March 11, 2025, Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495), a leader in enterprise storage solutions, unveiled its first All-Flash expansion chassis, the JB 4000U. This innovative model aims to enhance data storage capabilities for demanding applications such as AI, video editing, and backup, where rapid data access and large capacity are crucial.

The JB 4000U is designed as a scalable solution compatible with the EonStor GS U.2 NVMe unified storage systems. It features a compact 2U form factor that can support up to 24 U.2 NVMe SSDs within a single enclosure. In a dual-controller configuration, the unit achieves an impressive throughput of 24 GB/s, around 50% more than Infortrend's leading SAS SSD expansion chassis. The cost-effectiveness of this JBOF (Just a Bunch of Flash) design is noteworthy, as U.2 NVMe SSDs generally offer superior performance at a lower price point compared to traditional SAS SSD expansion solutions.

Users can significantly enhance their storage capacity with the JB 4000U, which allows for an impressive up to 1.47 PB in a single unit. In the near future, users will have the ability to connect up to three JBOF units, further expanding storage as needed.

For demanding tasks such as AI applications and content creation, users can achieve data transfer speeds of up to 50 GB/s alongside petabyte-scale SSD configurations by leveraging Infortrend's flagship SSD storage product, the EonStor GS 5024UE U.2 NVMe, in tandem with the JB 4000U. Additionally, for efficient backup and quick data restoration processes, a cost-effective solution can be constructed using the EonStor GS 3024UT and JB 4000U with 61.44 TB QLC U.2 NVMe SSDs.
