Reju Partners with Utexa and Antex to Implement REJU Polyester™ for Sustainable Textile Solutions

Reju Partners with Utexa and Antex to Promote REJU Polyester™

In a substantial move towards sustainable textile production, Reju™, a leader in textile regeneration, has recently unveiled its plans to collaborate with global fiber manufacturing giants Utexa and Antex. This partnership is poised to validate and commercialize Reju's innovative product, REJU Polyester™, specifically designed for multifilament yarn applications in the textile industry.

Partnerships with Key Industry Players

This alliance comes as part of Reju's broader strategy to tackle the pressing issue of post-consumer textile waste in regions where it is most prominent. The collaboration aims to develop high-quality yarns produced at Utexa’s facility in Choloma, Honduras, and Antex's plant in Girona, Spain. These yarns will be used by Reju’s associated brands to create garments while examining coastline supply chains scheduled for rollout in October 2025.

Patrik Frisk, the CEO of Reju, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "These partnerships accelerate the development of sustainable high-quality yarns that meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible textile solutions. By combining the proven manufacturing capabilities of Utexa and Antex with Reju's polyester technology, we will drive significant change in the textile industry. Our mission is to demonstrate the potential for creating high-quality yarns and fabrics in the regions where our regeneration centers will be located."

A Commitment to Sustainability

The introduction of REJU Polyester™ signifies a critical advancement in the textile sector. Key benefits include a significant reduction in carbon emissions—Reju's regeneration process yields 100% recycled polyester from textile-to-textile, boasting a carbon footprint nearly 50% lower than that of virgin polyester. Furthermore, Reju’s regeneration technology ensures the production of high-quality polyester suitable for various textile applications, effectively sidestepping the thermal degradation and contaminants typically associated with thermomechanical recycling processes.

By identifying local partners to address post-consumer waste, Reju is not only promoting a stable and adaptable supply chain but is also enhancing flexibility and speed to market for brands involved. Jon Pavlansky, President of Utexa, remarked, "Working with Reju reinforces our mission to drive innovation and speed in the textile sector in the Americas. We are eager to explore the full potential of REJU Polyester and establish a new industry benchmark for sustainable yarns."

Marta Molist, Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Antex, added, "The circular polyester from Reju perfectly aligns with our commitment to sustainable innovation, speed, and supply chain efficiency. As a global producer of multifilament yarns, we are proud to help bring this next-generation material to life, offering performance, quality, and environmental responsibility on an industrial scale."

Looking Forward

As both Reju and its partners move forward, they will provide updates on the pilot program’s progress and outcomes. This initiative underscores the shared objective of creating a circular textiles system that focuses on sustainability and innovation while paving the way for a future with reduced textile waste.
