Launch of Al Khail Square at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club
On December 15, 2025, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, inaugurated the Al Khail Square—a significant development at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club. This project is an integral part of a broader initiative to enhance the equestrian sector and to celebrate its deeply rooted heritage within a modern urban setting.
The vision for Al Khail Square reflects Abu Dhabi's ambition to create high-quality, future-ready communities. This project stands as a new reference point for lifestyle, athleticism, and community in the capital, with a strong emphasis on well-being, sustainability, and quality of life. The square will feature pedestrian-friendly pathways, extensive green spaces, open environments designed to maximize natural light and improve air quality, as well as advanced cooling systems to maintain comfort for residents and visitors year-round.
During the inauguration, Sheikh Mansour reviewed the new master plan for the club and received detailed presentations from key figures including HE Ali Al Shaiba, the Club's Director General. The development will boast state-of-the-art equestrian facilities, high-end residential units, modern healthcare services, a variety of commercial spaces, and a new members-only club that promises a fully integrated, world-class experience.
Commenting on the project, Sheikh Mansour stated that Al Khail Square embodies the prominent status of horse sports in Abu Dhabi and the unwavering support it receives from the government. He emphasized that this project will create a flagship destination that beautifully harmonizes authenticity with modernity, further solidifying Abu Dhabi's role as a global center for horse racing and equestrian activities.
The project also aims to contribute significantly to the urban, sports, and cultural development of Abu Dhabi, with Sheikh Mansour underscoring the importance of adhering to the approved schedule to maintain the highest standards. As Ali Al Shaiba noted, Al Khail Square will redefine the architectural identity of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, transforming it into an integrated destination that honors its historical legacy while presenting a contemporary model for luxury living, leisure, and hospitality.
Founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club has long served as a centerpiece for major sporting and cultural events in the emirate. Al Khail Square seeks to build on this legacy, embedding horsemanship as a core element of the national identity.
Strategically located at the heart of the capital, Al Khail Square is poised to become one of the most remarkable residential and lifestyle destinations in Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the emirate’s reputation as a city where equestrian heritage meets contemporary living.
