Hiroshima Bank and MetLife's Joint Community Support Program Celebrates 36th Round of Donations

Hiroshima Bank and MetLife Life Insurance's Joint Community Support Program

Hiroshima Bank, led by President Kazumasa Kiyosumi, and MetLife Life Insurance, chaired by CEO Dirk Osteen, have announced the presentation of their 36th donation as part of their ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Since 2007, they have collectively aimed to support the welfare of children and families through various contributions to local charities and organizations.

Details of the 36th Donation (2024-2025)

The donation was officially presented on July 4th to the Hiroshima Children’s Dream Foundation, with a total amount of 430,000 yen, split evenly between the two institutions. This significant contribution targets various local entities dedicated to the well-being of children:
  • - Hiroshima Children’s Dream Foundation
  • - 12 Child Welfare Institutions in Hiroshima Prefecture
  • - 2 Baby Homes in Hiroshima Prefecture
  • - 2 Foster Parent Associations in Hiroshima Prefecture

Purpose of the Community Support Program

The primary goal of this program is to create an environment where the next generation of children can have equal access to education and social participation while growing up in a healthy atmosphere. Hiroshima Bank and MetLife Life Insurance are committed to supporting such initiatives that promote children's growth and family support in the region. The foundation spearheads several key projects that include community parenting support and welfare services.

How Donations are Collected

The donation amount is calculated based on the number of individual annuity and whole life insurance policies sold by MetLife Life Insurance through Hiroshima Bank over a six-month period. For every policy sold, 2,000 yen is allocated for the donation, which is then equally shared between the two organizations. This method not only supports local initiatives but also fosters a sense of community involvement in financial services.

Cumulative Donations from Phases 1 to 36

To date, the total sum of donations reaching 31.35 million yen has been contributed equally by both Hiroshima Bank and MetLife Life Insurance (15.675 million yen each). Both organizations are dedicated to continuing their efforts to nurture an environment that promotes the healthy development of children.
