PKGD Group Achieves Remarkable 56% Growth in Agave Spirits Portfolio by September 2026
PKGD Group Reports Exceptional Growth in Agave Spirits Portfolio
In a remarkable achievement, PKGD Group has announced a year-over-year growth rate of 56.4% in their agave spirits portfolio for the first nine months of 2026. This surge in volume, reported as 193,035 4.5-liter case equivalents, marks a significant increase from the 123,433 cases sold during the same period in 2025. This growth has been driven by several of the company's key brands, including G4 Tequila, Palomo Mezcal, El Viejito, and El Acabo, all of which recorded substantial increases in volume.
Impressive Performance Across Brands
The details reveal that G4 Tequila experienced an astounding volume growth of 54.6%, reaching 178,490 cases. Palomo Mezcal followed closely with a 44% increase to 10,175 cases, while El Viejito Tequila skyrocketed by 507% to 2,297 cases. Lastly, El Acabo Raicilla marked a notable increase of 377% to 972 cases. This performance showcases the robust market demand for high-quality agave spirits and the effectiveness of PKGD Group’s strategies in expanding their brand presence.
Chris Risdon, Executive Vice President of PKGD Group, emphasized the importance of quality and pricing in driving these outstanding results. "Quality has to be there when someone opens the bottle, and the price has to make sense when they come back for another one. We believe that combination of quality and value is driving these results. Our job is to help more people discover these producers and make their spirits easier to find," said Risdon.
Market Expansion and Increasing Retail Sales
The continuous increase of G4’s distribution points is particularly noteworthy, showing a 42.9% rise alongside a 7.7% increase in dollar sales per point. Along with a measured retail dollar sale jump of 53.9%, totaling $33.3 million for the year ending October 3, 2026, G4 has climbed to the No. 10 spot in NIQ Byzzer's composite brand performance rankings in the tequila category. Notably, G4's core 80-proof Reposado 750 mL expression has generated $14.7 million in retail sales, marking a staggering 97.3% increase.
Such growth in sales has not gone unnoticed, as G4 was named an Impact Hot Prospect and has gained recognition as one of the finalists for Rising Drinks Brand of the Year in VinePair's 2026 Next Wave Awards, underscoring its rising prominence in the spirits market.
New Entrants: Tequila Arriesgado
PKGD Group is not only focusing on established brands but is also welcoming new entrants such as Tequila Arriesgado, which recorded 744 case equivalents in just three months of its commercial launch. With a philosophy centered on ancestral production practices, Arriesgado reflects a commitment to quality through hand-crushed agave and wood-fired cooking methods. Both its Blanco and Reposado varieties are positioned at competitive price points of $69.99 and $79.99, respectively.
Conclusion: A Bright Future for PKGD Group
As PKGD Group continues to build on the strong momentum of its agave spirits portfolio, the future looks promising for the organization. By focusing on quality, strategic partnerships, and an expansive distribution network, they are well-positioned to deepen their impact within the agave market. This impressive growth not only highlights the increasing demand for premium spirits but also showcases PKGD Group's effectiveness in marketing and brand-building efforts, paving the way for continued success into the next year and beyond.
